Day 2 - Write a Letter to Santa
Day 3 - Go to the Zoo to See ZooLights!
Day 4 - Frosty the Snowman Movie Night
This has been so much fun!! I was planning on updating like once a week, but I get too excited to share what we've been up to so I can't wait that long! So here's another update. :)
Day 10 - Make a Handprint Wreath
My original plan was to have the kids make this together but Dawson got sick after dinner and just wanted to rest on the couch. :( He's still sick, getting worse actually, but during the day he's just fine. At night... that's not so fun. Hopefully he can get over it soon AND hopefully (please, please, please!) Ashlynn won't catch it. We've been washing our hands more than usual and spraying Lysol throughout the day so hopefully it won't spread. Anyway, back to the handprint wreath. Although I was sad that Dawson wasn't feeling well and wasn't able to do this with us, it was nice to do something with just Ashlynn. She hasn't been able to do some of the activities (write Santa a letter, make paper snowflakes, etc) just because she isn't quite old enough so I was happy that she was able to do this with me. And it turned out so cute! A little handprint wreath with a footprint bow. :)
Ashlynn LOVES paint and LOVES doing her handprints and footprints so we had a lot of fun with this. :)
Day 11 - Color Christmas Coloring Pages
Dave was working so me and the kids sat at the kitchen table (Ashlynn in her highchair) and colored together. It was fun and we got some cute pictures to hang up. :) I think I'm going to hang the one that Dawson colored in Ashlynn's room and the one that Ashlynn colored in Dawson's room. So they can have a little Christmas decoration in their rooms from each other. Ashlynn helped me color mine a little bit, but I don't think we'll hang that one up. :P
Day 12 - Make Gingerbread Houses
Dave has the day off so all four of us were able to work on our gingerbread houses together. I think this is the first time that we've made gingerbread houses... and they're not actually gingerbread houses... we used Cocoa Krispies to build our houses instead. :)
We put the candy in muffin tins...
And we started building! I helped Ashlynn and Dave helped Dawson. Ashlynn was more interested in eating all the candy rather than building so I did most the work on ours. Besides putting the frosting on the house Dawson did most of the work on theirs!
Here's Dave's and Dawson's.
And here's mine and Ashlynn's.
They turned out so cute!!! The kids were pretty proud of themselves too. :)
And they make such cute decorations!!! :) I wish we could keep them forever but I think pictures of them will have to do. (Although I do plan on leaving their houses out until Christmas.)

It's the kids that make Christmas fun! When our kids reached adult age, we missed the little joys of Christmas. Now we have three grandkids to share in the excitement!
