Dawson Starts Ninja Training and a Super Busy Week!

Dawson started going to Ninja Warehouse to do American Ninja Warrior type training a couple of weeks ago. He's been to two classes so far and really likes it! I meant to post about this last week but forgot so I wanted to make sure to talk about it first! I love my little Ninja Warrior!!

To start off our busy week, the kids had no school on Monday so I wanted to do something fun with them. We waited for Dave to get off of work and then we went to The Farm at Gardner Village. Ashlynn was going to volunteer there last year, and still wants to, but we've just had so much going on! I'm hoping her and Dave can start going every other week or something because she LOVES animals and wants to have a farm of her own some day. Dawson is more like me... not really an animal lover like Ash is... he likes them but doesn't really want to touch them and the smell of the farm makes his stomach turn. Yep, he's a mini me!

Dawson was whining that he wanted to leave pretty much the whole time, although he did enjoy the pony ride. And Ashlynn didn't want to leave, of course. She's always been our little animal whisperer.

On Tuesday night Ashlynn had tumbling. She was working on her standing backbend and did it all on her own once!! She's still nervous about it, though, so she needs to keep practicing!

On Wednesday Ashlynn started dance back up again. Her friend Avery and her friend Carsen are in her class this year! And her dance teacher told them they were going to be tumbling in their dance this year so she's excited to already be getting better at tumbling

On Thursday night Ashlynn went to her friend's birthday party at High Jump and had a lot of fun! My neighbor took her to the party with her daughter and then I picked them both up when the party was over. Since Ashlynn was going to a party, I was able to go with Dave and Dawson to his Ninja class!! It was fun to watch him!

And then on Friday they both went to another birthday party across the street! The party lasted three hours and Dave and I had decided to surprise Dawson by putting his new bed together while they were gone. We barely had enough time to finish but we did it! This isn't the best picture, I'll have to get another one but here's his new bed!

On Saturday the kids played with their friends for most of the day. Around 8 o'clock last night we played Labyrinth with Dawson while Ashlynn colored.

Tonight we'll be going to our (almost) weekly family dinner at my mom and dad's house and then tomorrow I start my new job at the kid's school! I'm nervous!!

Dawson's and Ashlynn's Clean Bedrooms

This past week while the kids were at school I worked on cleaning and organizing their rooms and playroom. It took two FULL days to do all three rooms. So of course I had to take pictures to remember my hard work since it may not last long. hahah So far the kids have been really good about making their beds in the mornings and putting away toys when they're finished, let's hope they keep it up!!

First up is Dawson's room. He'll be getting a full size bed in a couple of months, I'll have to post new pics once we get it!

I'm not a huge fan of these posters but Dawson loves them. He and Dave hang them up together after they get them at movie screenings or Comic Con. I like that he likes them... lol

Random Photos and Dawson's First Job!

Ashlynn loves cats so she has a lot of kitty stuff! I couldn't resist this shirt with cats and books!!

 These next few pictures are from the day we went to the zoo, after we had gotten home. My dad came by because he and Dave needed to do their fantasy football draft or something and my dad needed a little bit of help.

 Ashlynn has been quite the little helper in the kitchen and can even make a few things mostly on her own like toast, bagels, and even scrambled eggs! Here she is helping finish up the mac & cheese by stirring it all together. I need to get some pictures of her making eggs, she's really good at it!

 After Dave and my dad were finished with their draft we played a Harry Potter Triwizard Maze game.

And my dad and Dave went over to my neighbors house who were giving this recliner away for free! It fits in perfectly in our family room. Here Ashlynn is trying it out and reading one of our blog books! (We get the posts that I write here printed into books each year and the kids LOVE being able to go back when they were babies or whenever and read about what we were up to. We're a couple of years behind on printing but we'll get caught up soon!)

 Last Sunday we had family over here for dinner. Dave had won a big party size frozen lasagna that we never would've been able to eat ourselves, so it was nice to invite them over and make dinner for everyone. After dinner the kids played for a bit and then the cousins had to leave. I gave Dawson and Ashlynn quick showers while Nana and Papa hung out with Dave and then we watched Big Brother together.

This week was an exciting week for Dawson at school. He got to work in the cafeteria for the first time!! The first day he was serving up sub sandwiches, the next day he helped the dishwasher, on Wednesday he was wiping down tables, Thursday he served up corn, and on Friday he served carrots! He really enjoyed it. I was happy I was able to visit him on his first day and get a few pictures.

2nd grade was about to go to lunch when I went to see Dawson so I waited a few minutes so I could say hi to Ashlynn too. Look at that cute kitty jacket and kitty lunchbox... she sure loves her cats!

The next day (Tuesday) I actually had an interview at the school! It went well and sounded like I pretty much got the job (which I know now that I did get, I'm the new P.E. aide 😊). After my interview I called up Dave to see if he could meet for lunch, and he could, so I drove out to see him. Here's our selfie with my van, Weasley. We got the van a few months ago, it's a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica and we LOVE it!! We named it Weasley after the Weasley's in Harry Potter. LOL I love them. Ashlynn wanted to name it Gryffindor which would've been a great name, too, but she was outvoted by Dawson and I. I 💓 Weasley.

Speaking of Harry Potter, check out the kids' new PJs!! We're all a little obsessed.

This next picture was taken at Leatherby's... Ashlynn can make it look like her foot is backwards. Eek!

As I was following Ash to her line one day, I was like you have a LOT of stuff on your backpack! She's got chapstick, lipgloss, hand sanitizer, two Harry Potter funko keychains two kitty plushies and an emoji plush! haha It's cute.
