Day 3... Our last day at Disney!

We woke up a little late this day (we stayed up late watching fireworks the night before!). We hurried and got ready and got all of our stuff together because we had to checkout of the hotel. It was just after 8 so California Adventure had just opened for it's Extra Magic Hour. So me and the kids headed to the park while Dave put our luggage in the car. We went straight for Toy Story Midway Mania! The kids love that ride! We rode it twice in a row, then rode King Triton's Carousel, then headed to ride The Little Mermaid ride again. Like I said before the kids weren't too fond of trying new rides so we decided to stick to the ones that they had already been on, the ones I knew they liked!

Dave called me and said he was waiting for us between the parks so we decided to meet him out front and head into Disneyland. (this photo was actually from day 2 but I forgot to add it in yesterday's post)

We saw Pluto when walked in and Ashlynn wanted to meet him. We met him at Goofy's Kitchen but Ashlynn was scared of the characters at the time and was hiding under the table! Not this time, though, she wanted to give him a hug!
We walked passed the Tiki Juice Bar and noticed there was no line (no matter it was 9am... it was my birthday!!!) so we stopped by and got a couple of Dole Whip Floats. YUMMM!!!!
We sat down on a bench outside of Sleeping Beauty's castle to eat them and that's when Dave surprised me with a birthday present. :) :)
I love it!!!

We walked through Sleeping Beauty's Castle after that. Another first for all of us.

After that we went and rode Buzz Lightyear Astro Blaster, the kids loved it. While we were waiting in line for that ride the kids saw the line to meet Tinker Bell and wanted to go there next. Besides Anna and Elsa she was the longest we had to wait before we got to meet her. Or maybe it just felt that way because it was day 3 and our feet were killing us. haha

We met Silvermist first.

And then Tink!

When we were leaving there we ran into Alice and the Mad Hatter. We had already met Alice so we asked the Mad Hatter for a picture and an autograph. :)
Oh! I forgot that we let the kids pick out some souvenirs when we got into Disneyland this day. Ashlynn picked out an Ariel jewelry box and an Aurora necklace (you can see it in some pics that I posted) and Dawson picked out two action figures... Rocket Racoon and Star Lord!

We had reservations for lunch at Rainforest Cafe so we said goodbye to Disneyland and headed to lunch.

Lunch was super yummy. Our next adventure was waiting for us in Las Vegas, that's where we were headed next. Stay tuned for the last leg of our trip! :)

Day 2 - Disneyland!

Hey! I'm back... our trip was so long ago now that I think I've forgotten some of the small details. Thankfully we have a lot of photos that will help me remember!  :)

On day 2 we headed to Disneyland first! We rode Peter Pan's Flight and then King Arthur Carrousel. That's when we noticed Anna and Elsa were right there. I hadn't planned on going to meet them because I heard the lines were outrageous but the kids kept talking about seeing the. They REALLY wanted to! It's not like we're able to go to Disneyland whenever we want so we decided we should meet them while we had the chance. Dave (the best daddy in the world!) waited in line, which was about an hour and a half long already, while me and the kids went to explore. They were most excited about meeting the characters so that was a top priority.

We walked over to Fantasy Faire and noticed there wasn't much of a line. I think we were 3rd in line and there was only about a 15 minute wait until the princesses arrived so we decided to wait.

We met Ariel first...

And then Snow White.
Ans lastly, Cinderella!

Ashlynn was so happy to meet them but she was so quiet! Dawson was talking their ears off, of course. haha

After that we walked over to Toontown to meet Mickey and Minnie. Toontown wasn't open yet so we had to wait another 15 minutes or so. Once it opened we were able to meet Minnie...
And then Dave called to let me know it was almost our turn to meet Anna and Elsa. I wish we would've explored Toontown! We didn't go back after that... it's going to be at the top of our list next time that we go!!!

The kids LOVED meeting Anna and Elsa... I'm so thankful that Dave was willing to wait in line for them!

After that we headed over to Innovations to meet Thor and Captain America!!

Dawson was picked out of the crowd to try and lift Thor's hammer!
He was excited when he was finally able to lift it with Thor's help.
It was AWESOME!!!
Then we headed over to meet Cap. This is my favorite picture from the trip!!

Dawson told Captain America how he was able to hold Thor's hammer. Captain America was impressed and told him he must be pretty special and then he let him hold his shield!!
Pretty sure this will go down as one of the best days ever for Dawson. :) :)
We had reservations at Cafe Orleans for lunch so we headed there after hanging out with some superheroes. Dave and I tried the Monte Cristo for the first time and oh my gosh was it heavenly!!! We're totally getting one (to share!!) every time we go to Disneyland from now on.
After lunch they brought me a special birthday dessert. :) :)
After lunch we climbed through Tarzan's Treehouse and then decided to head back to the hotel for some rest. Here was our view from our room.... not too shabby!!

After a short rest we headed to Critter Country. We rode The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh and then met Pooh and some of his friends! First up was Tigger.
Then Eeyore.

And then Pooh.

After that we wandered around for a bit and ran into Mickey!!

After that the kids wanted to watch the parade again so we grabbed some popcorn and waited for that to start.

After the parade we went and rode it's a small world. One of my favorite rides! The kids loved it, too! I can't really remember what else we did that day, if anything. Except that we did stay to watch the fireworks.
