Day Two!

Our 2nd day in Disney was on Tuesday. On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, guests staying at one of Disney's hotels can get into the park an hour before it opens to the public. So, we had planned on waking up at about 6am so we could get ready, eat and be to the gates at 7 when they would let us in. But when 6am rolled around we didn't want to get out of bed. *lol* Who likes to wake up early when they're on vacation?! Not us! So I think we got up a little before 8.

We went downstairs to get breakfast and ended up at Storytellers Cafe in our hotel. We didn't realize that it was another character restaurant, but we didn't complain. The restaurant was beautiful and I had the best ham and cheese omelet! Dawson mostly ate fruit and Dave wasn't too impressed with the buffet. We got to meet more characters though!

We met Chip.


And Dale. (We met him the day before, too)


Kenai from Brother Bear. (I hate to admit this but neither me or Dave knew who this was... I totally had to look him up! Oops. I think we need to buy and watch Brother Bear...)


And Koda also from Brother Bear. (We didn't know who he was either!)


Meeko from Pocahontas. I wish we could have met Pocahontas, too!



After breakfast we went to Disneyland. And once again right when we walked in we saw characters! I was stoked to see Donald Duck! And I'm pretty sure that Donald and Mickey are Dawson's favorites. He LOVED them!

And we saw Minnie, too! This is the first character that we let Dawson walk up to. He was so sweet and gave her a little hug and then grabbed her nose of course! *lol*


We were surprised to see that Pirates of the Caribbean only had about a 5 minute wait so we got in line for that. Dawson was a little scared at first, I think because it was so dark, but he seemed to enjoy most of the ride just looking around at everything and taking it all in.

Disneyland was PACKED on Tuesday. It was probably 3 or maybe even 4 times busier than it was the day before. We decided that we didn't want to wait in line for more than 15 or 20 minutes for any ride because we knew that wouldn't be any fun for Dawson. So after walking around a bit and deciding that there were too many people there to really do or see anything we headed over to California Adventure.

There were a lot of people there, too, but it wasn't as crazy as Disneyland was.

Dawson loves cars so when we saw Mater and Lightning McQueen we knew we had to stop and let Dawson see them.


We knew we wanted to go on the ferris wheel so we headed towards the back. Luckily the line wasn't very long. You can choose to get in line to ride a gondola that swings or a gondola that doesn't move. We choose the one that didn't move even though Dave was trying to talk me into waiting for the swinging one. If we didn't have Dawson we definitely would have went on the swinging one, but I didn't want to scare him. While we were on the ride we saw a baby girl who was probably just under a year old riding in one of the swinging gondolas and she was just sitting back and relaxing, so I guess it wouldn't have been that scary for him, but I'm glad we rode the one we did. And Dawson loved it! He kept climbing up on Dave and putting his face against the bars so he could look out. He is such a daredevil!


After that we walked around for a little bit after that and then went to see Turtle Talk with Crush. We didn't sit through the whole thing because Dawson wasn't very interested and it was getting close to lunchtime so we headed back to the hotel room for some peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Our room had a DVD player in it which came in handy because we brought a few movies with us. We had planned just to watch them on the laptop but we got to enjoy them on a big TV instead. :) After lunch we put a movie in for Dawson to settle him down a little bit so he would take a nap.

After Dawson's nap we headed back to Disneyland. We decided to take our picture in front of Mickey again since we were all wearing our Mickey shirts.


Then we were able to ride Snow White and Pinocchio. Dawson didn't get too excited about those rides but he seemed to like looking at everything.

Then we rode the canal boats through Storybook Land. Dawson really liked looking at the miniature models from different Disney movies. There were a few times that he got really excited and the other people that were on the boat with us thought it was so adorable.

After that we just walked around checking everything out.

Dawson went to see if the White Rabbit was home...but he didn't answer.

Then Dawson decided to make sure his light was working ok. *lol*


What a little handyman already. :) I don't know if you can really tell in those pictures but Dawson is wearing the cutest Mickey jacket! I'll have to try and get a better picture of him in it because it is seriously adorable! We also got him a pair of Mickey ears with his name embroidered on the back, but he wouldn't wear those even long enough for me to get a picture. It's a great souviener so I'm glad we got them. And they're a little big so hopefully he'll wear them next time we go.

We were going to stay and watch the fireworks that were going to start a little after 9, but Dawson was tired so we decided to head back to the hotel about 15 minutes before they started. We were so glad that we decided not to wait for them when we saw how many people were waiting for them. We were pretty close to the castle so we didn't realize that there were thousands of people behind us also waiting to see the fireworks...it was insane. It probably would have taken us an hour and a half to leave the park if we had waited to leave until after the fireworks.

When we got back to our room we saw this cute little card telling us to have sweet dreams and sleep tight. And there was also some cute little chocolates. Yum!


We think we had the do not disturb sign on the door the night before even though we weren't in the room because we didn't see anything like that our first night we were there. We thought it was really cute.
