Dave was able to call me right before midnight, though, so that was good. I'm really excited that 2010 is here because even though we've been halfway through the deployment for about a month now, it is just now starting to feel like we are getting closer to the end. He's been deployed for 5 months now, but he went back to San Diego after we moved back to Utah at the beginning of July so we haven't seen each other in 6 months! Dawson had just turned 8 months a week or 2 before Dave left and now he is 14 months, that is really crazy to think about. But enough about that!
Hailee is having a sleepover with us again tonight. I love it when she sleeps over...Dawson has SO much fun with her and I have more time to get things done. Of course tonight I was totally lazy and just sat on the couch and watched them play even though I have a whole house that really needs to be cleaned. Maybe I can talk Brandee into letting Hailee sleepover one more night and then tomorrow I can really work on the house while she entertains Dawson.
We had homemade stuffed crust pepperoni pizza tonight. It was really good. My plan was to wait until Hailee got here so she could help me make it because I figured that would be fun for her, but me and Dawson normally eat a little after 5 and Hailee wasn't going to be here until a little after 6 and I was hungry. So I decided to make it and have it ready by the time she got here. My timing was pretty good because she came to the door about 30 seconds before I took the pizza out of the oven. Hailee loves pepperonis, so I made sure to put extra on just for her. And I left a corner of the pizza just cheese for Dawson. He hasn't had pepperoni yet, it seems like it would be too spicy for him...am I being too cautious? I dunno, but I don't plan on giving him pepperoni for awhile, he loves cheese pizza so there is no need to try and make it better.
After dinner I got a few pictures of the two of the playing in the ball pit together. I was surprised to see that Hailee likes it so much. She'll be 6 years old in a couple of weeks...wouldn't that be cool if Dawson liked that ball pit until he was 6?! She probably mostly liked it just because it was something new, it definitely won't be new to Dawson 5 years from now. And that's if it even holds up that long. Anyway, I'm rambling!
Pictures!
We made some chocolate chip cookies tonight, too. I made one cookie without any chocolate chips for Dawson. *lol* I'm crazy. But again he loved it without the chocolate so it's ok.
