A couple months ago I kept asking him to take a couple days off because I just wanted to spend some time together as a family. His ship goes out all the time and when he is here, he has duty all the time. It seems like his duty days always land on the weekend so he usually only gets one day off a week to spend with us. I was getting pretty frustrated that he is never home so I told him for my birthday (which isn't until August and his ship is going to be deployed by then anyway...) I wanted him to surprise me with a week off of work!
I love having him home! His ship is leaving for 3 weeks as soon as his leave is over...I don't even want to start thinking about that yet though! I'm just happy that he is here now! :-D
We took Dawson to the pool yesterday and he loved it. He loves splashing around in the water. We took a few pictures...this first one is funny because he is sticking his tongue out, like usual.
I took this picture right before we left for the pool, we put sunscreen on him and Dave gave him another mohawk. This one turned out better since his hair was wet from the sunscreen.
These pictures are from last night, he got his first taste of sweet potatoes and he loves them. He likes to try and feed himself...

So far he has tried squash, sweet potatoes and bananas. I said I was going to wait until he tried all the veggies before he tried fruit but he hasn't been eating his cereal very well lately so I decided to mix some bananas with it and now he loves it. I think he is going to try applesauce tomorrow morning. :-)
Dawson has started to move around a lot more. He is not crawling, nor is he even close to crawling but that isn't stopping him! He's learned that he can get where ever he wants by rolling and turning himself. Last night I left him on the living room floor with a few toys while I went into the kitchen to rinse some dishes. A couple minutes later when I came back into the living room I found him in the corner where we keep all the toys.
Excuse the mess...he has a lot of toys already.
So this is where I left him...
Those toys weren't enough I guess because this is where he ended up. (I have to add that this happens a few times a day...no matter where he is on the floor, he always ends up in the toy corner.)
And this goes along with my last post...look at what he found in that mountain of toys...
Yep, a tag. He was sucking on it. It was kinda funny especially because I had just made a post about it.
I think that is about it for now. I'm looking forward to going to the beach sometime this week and I'm sure I'll have a lot of pictures to share. :-)
