Grandma's Surprise Birthday Party

This last weekend we had our family reunion. We had family from Southern Utah, Washington State, and Texas here visiting. My grandma is turning 80 this year... her birthday isn't until November, though, but since we had the whole family here we decided to throw her a surprise birthday party that way everybody could celebrate with her. A birthday party 4 months early... do you think Grandma was surprised? She sure was! ;)

Happily surprised!
We had another surprise in store for her... Even Ashlynn was surprised...

Grandma's surprised look...

It's Elvis! :)

Elvis stayed for about an hour playing some good music. Ashlynn enjoyed dancing on the table.

And of course Grandma really enjoyed the show. She loves Elvis.

My uncle Virgil, who passed away in 2002, was a huge Elvis fan and loved impersonating him. My mom brought his picture and put it up next to the Elvis cake.

Time to blow out the candles, Dawson wanted to help.

It takes a couple minutes to light 80 candles (even with two people doing it) so the cake turned into a bit of a wax cake. haha

Look at this handsome fella!

After cake and ice cream we went out to the swimming pool! I wish I would have taken more pictures of everybody! I know Stephanie took a lot of pictures, I'm going to have to see if she'll send them to me.

I do like this picture of Dawson jumping into the pool. Up until that night he had never dared to jump in before. He kept doing it over and over and thought it was a lot of fun!

Aunt Debbie wasn't planning on swimming BUT she did have a lot of fun in the pool after she got pushed in!

It was a fun night. I sure do love spending time with our family!
