A few weeks ago I was worried that Ashlynn wasn't talking very much. Then I sat down and wrote out all the words that she says on her own and I was excited to see that she talks a lot more than I thought she did! She easily says over 50 words on her own and now she is starting to put together short sentences. :) The other day when we had just finished eating dinner and were still sitting at the table just talking Ashlynn said "bib....off" It was so cute! She wanted us to take her bib off so she could get down and run around. (She'll tell us to put her bib on too when she's ready to eat.)
After we put Dawson to bed tonight me and Dave started watching Big Brother. Ashlynn goes to bed almost an hour before Dawson so she had been asleep awhile already. While we were watching our show we heard Ashlynn talking over her monitor. We decided not to go in her room because she was just playing (she has a few dolls in her bed) and we figured she'd go back to sleep on her own. We listened to her playing and "talking" with her dolls for about 20 minutes and then I heard her say "go poo poo, go poo poo" so I went in her room to check on her and sure enough she had a dirty diaper! I'm glad that she said something because we were totally just going to let her go back to sleep! As I was bringing her out to the living room to change her diaper she said "Daws WAKE UP!" She seriously yelled "wake up!" Little stinker. :P
It's so fun to watch our babies grow up. They are both at such fun stages. Dawson is totally my little buddy. One of his favorite things to do right now is play with his cars. He'll line them all up and drive them around his room. The other day while he was playing with his cars he was using different voices for them. For one of his cars he would use his regular voice and for another car he would use a higher voice. In his regular voice he would say "let's go guys" and in his higher voice he would say "hey wait for me, you guys keep leaving me!" It was SO funny! He kept saying the same two lines over and over and I was trying my hardest not to start laughing out loud. It was the cutest thing. He has such a cute little personality. He likes to sing, he'll usually sing the theme songs to the shows that he watches (Jake, and Doc McStuffins mostly) and sometimes he gets super creative and makes up his own words but still sings the song to the tune of one of the songs he knows, it's really cute! He loves to be tickled and loves jumping into daddy's arms but not before saying "to infinity and beyond!"
Ashlynn is my little sweetheart. She loves us to read to her and she loves to cuddle on the couch and watch TV with us. She really doesn't have any favorite toys, she'll play with one or two things for a few minutes but she mostly just wanders around the house and plays with us. Books are definitely the one thing that will hold her attention the longest. She doesn't need toys! *lol* She loves to give kisses and hugs and loves to be held. (She says "up" when she wants us to pick her up.) She definitely adores Dawson and always wants to do what he's doing.
It's amazing how much and how fast they are growing! Dawson always tells me he's "all growed up" but today at church I heard Dawson tell the person that we were sitting next to that he "doesn't have a watch yet because I'm just a kid." I was happy to hear that. :) Sometimes when I'm holding the kids I'll have a flashback in my mind to what they looked like when they were tiny babies and what it was like to hold them then. Of course I get all emotional when I think about it. I'm getting emotional now just typing about it... hang on while I get a tissue... ok, I'm back. :) I can still picture Dawson's little baby face as if he hasn't grown up at all. And same goes for Ashlynn... I get extra emotional when I think about her as a tiny baby because I always think about holding her... and not being able to hold her while she was in the NICU. I always think about how blessed I am to be able to be their mom. They're perfect and I love them more than anything in this world!
Ok, I'm done now. Dave is wondering what the heck I am writing about that is making me so emotional. *lol*

Awww, what a sweet post, Jamie! You guys are an awesome family.
Jamie, you should save hard copies of your blogs in print form. So much gets forgetten but I'm often reminded of our kids' childhood times when they talk about it now.
You defintely have an awesome family!
