Dawson is 2!!

Dawson turned 2 years old yesterday! Two years! I can't believe it, he's still my little baby but he's not so little anymore.

Dave's ship is out right now so we're going to wait to celebrate his birthday until Dave is done with the ship around mid-November. I did still want to get Dawson some balloons, let him have a cupcake and let him open just one present on his actual birthday. We had a pretty good day. Here is a short video of me asking him how old he is now...






This doesn't have anything to do with his birthday, but I had been planning a little activity for him to do for a few days but then we ending up getting colds so we weren't able to do it until yesterday. I cut out the shape of a pumpkin from orange construction paper and then I cut out the pumpkin's eyes, nose and mouth from black construction paper. I showed Dawson where all the pieces went and then let him try to do it on his own. Kind of like a homemade puzzle, I guess. I did have some double sided tape on the pieces but he kept taking the tape off. He did get the pieces in all the right places twice, but mostly he just had fun putting them anywhere. He had a lot of fun with the pumpkin activity. He sat at his table and did it over and over again for about 20 minutes. And then after that he played with the pumpkin on and off all night. I'm going to have to think of or search for more little activities like that that we can do since he seemed to enjoy it so much!
