Small Family Update

Ashlynn is spending her first night in her big girl bed! Yep, she has graduated from her crib and is now in a toddler bed. She's doing pretty well, I think. She's gotten up a few times and I've had to go in there and tuck her back in, and she's cried a little bit, too, but nothing too bad. I'm very proud of her! One time while I was in there with her she randomly started dancing. Like, choreographed dancing. I was shocked! I have no idea if she learned it in dance class this week because the rooms that they are in don't have windows. They do have video cameras in each studio and then a big screen TV in the waiting area with a split screen (playing 4 videos at once) where you can watch them dancing but you can't see them that well. Did she make it up herself? Does she remember it from two days ago if that's when she learned it? I have no idea! I wish I knew. And I hope that she'll do it again tomorrow for Dave and for the video camera!!! I'll have to get some pictures of her new bed, too! I took some with my phone tonight but I'd like to take some with our camera tomorrow so they look better. :)

Dawson is still doing well with his reading lessons. We did lesson 24 tonight, so we're 24 days in. He's been reading short stories like, "the sock is near a man. A cat is in the sock." And "a rat is in a sack. That rat is not sad." He is struggling a little bit with the word "the" because when he sounds it out it sounds like "thee" and he is also struggling with the word "a" because he tries to sound it out instead of saying "uh." I'm sure he'll get it soon. He is AWESOME at sounding out words. In fact, last night while I was reading Ashlynn a book, Dawson read the word "sad" from the book! The first word he's read from a book that wasn't his reading lesson!! Me and Dave were so proud and we could tell that Dawson was proud of himself, too.

Me and Dave are still losing weight! Yippee! Tomorrow is our "official" weekly weigh-in day but so far we're down over 20lbs combined. I wish that was just *my* weight loss total, but I'll get there. ;) We still haven't started exercising regularly and we really need to. I feel like I have lost a lot of energy lately. A month or so ago I wrote about how I had a TON of energy and that is all gone now. I am always tired and don't want to do anything. Don't get me wrong, we're plenty busy and always doing something, but I don't want to do anything that I don't have to, if that makes sense. I'm taking care of the kids, keeping up on housework, working, etc, but exercising is the last thing I want to do. I'd rather sleep because I just don't have the energy. I miss how I used to feel and maybe exercise is the answer? I should probably try it and find out but I'm sooooooooo tired. Ugh. Now it just sounds like an excuse. *lol* If anybody knows of any super foods that give you energy (what vitamins could I be missing to be feeling so drained??) please let me know! After work I usually have a glass of Emergen-C (vitamin C) and a carrot and that seems to give me a little bit of energy but it might just be in my head. *lol* Anyway, I will stop rambling for now, I'm sure I'll be back tomorrow, though! :)

The big girl bed is sometimes traumatic. She'll do fine. Over here, Gavin can't wait until he's allowed to sleep in the upper bunk of the bunkbed we bought for times he spends the night here. It won't be long!
