I'm Feeling a Little Chatty.

It's been pretty quiet around here lately, not much to update on. It's been a cold winter so we haven't been going out and doing much. Dawson has gotten really good at playing Cars on the PS3, he'd play all day if we would let him so we limit him to two half hours a day. He'll usually play his first half hour after breakfast and his second half hour after lunch. He's pretty good about turning it off when his time is up because he knows if he throws a fit about it he won't get to play it at all the next day. He's gotten it taken away two or three times before but for the most part he listens. He also loves to play with his die cast cars, paint, play on his Innotab (we don't really limit his time on that, if I feel like he's playing on it too much we probably will but for now I think he's ok to play it when he wants). He's got two games for his Innotab now, Cars is his favorite and he's also got a Jake and the Never Land Pirates game. Ashlynn also has an Innotab and she's got a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse game. Last year Dawson went through a phase where we were reading Peter Pan every night before bed. I'm sure I posted about it in our blog because he just about had the entire book memorized word for word and it was a pretty long book. For awhile now (like months) we've been reading stories from his Cars Storybook Collection. It has twenty or so different Cars stories. I'm getting tired of reading those stories every night but he loves it. I'll be excited when he's ready to read different books each night. As long as he's excited to listen to stories I am grateful and shouldn't complain!

Ashlynn loves pushing her babies around the house in her stroller, playing Cars with Dawson, coloring, playing with her princesses and babies, and looking at books. Oh, and occasionally she'll play on her Innotab. She doesn't like storytime before bed. Or anytime for that matter. The stories from Dawson's storybook collection are about 15-20 minutes long which is too long for a two year old so I read her board books, Dr. Seuss books, etc. before bed and she usually only lasts a minute or two before she wants to get up and play or wants to take the book away from me because she wants to look at all of the pictures herself and doesn't want me to read. I always finish the book even if she's not listening to me. I'm hoping it's just a short anti-story time phase that's she's going through. I'll keep trying to read to her and hopefully soon she'll start listening. :)

Me and Dave are now two weeks into our second weightloss journey. In my last post I mentioned that we had each gained around 35 pounds, so an extra 70 pounds combined. Yikes! So far we've lost a little over 10 pounds combined. Yay! I have been in a super cleaning and organizing mood for about a week and a half now, too. I'm guessing all this extra energy is from eating better. I seriously feel like super woman! I've cleaned and organized our entire apartment. Granted our apartment is only about 1300 square feet so it's not liked I'm cleaning a mansion, but I was surprised about how much junk we had stuffed around here. It's so refreshing to walk into each room in our house and know that everything is clean and is in it's own place. I'm STILL in the mood to clean and organize... pretty soon I am going to run out of things to do. (Is that possible? With the mood I have been in, in might be!) We have a ton of stuff in my dad's basement that Dave wants me to go through because I've been throwing a lot of stuff away. He wants to take advantage of this mood that I'm in, in hopes that I will get rid of some stuff that I've been hanging on to that he doesn't think we need. For example the kids' clothes that they've outgrown. I'm pretty sure I've kept almost every single outfit, shirt, pants, and shorts that they've owned. The only reason I've held on to EVERYTHING is because I'm thinking if we do have another baby eventually, we're set! We won't have to buy much at all. I'm thinking if I'm still in this mood on Wednesday (both mine and Dave's day off) we'll have to see if somebody can watch the kids for us and we can go tackle the stuff in my dad's basement together. I can't promise that I will get rid of the kids' clothes but I'm sure I will find a bunch of stuff that I am ready to part with.

In other news, Ashlynn's fish, Goldie, died a few days ago. We've had our fish since July or August, thankfully since our fish aren't "new" anymore the kids hardly even pay attention to them and didn't even realize one of them is missing. Goober (aka Goob), Dawson's fish, seems a little lonely, we might have to get him another little buddy soon. I kind of wish we didn't get goldfish to start with so we could have a little bit of variety in our tank but there's no going back now, I suppose.

Geez, for starting out this post saying I don't have much to update on I sure have written a bunch. Now here's some random pictures that I took with my phone over the last couple of weeks. Enjoy!

Dawson loves to play Hedbanz, he's really good, too! Here are a couple pictures of him trying to guess who he is. (He asks me questions to try to figure it out)

One night Dawson was sitting next to me on the couch, I grabbed him and started cradling him like a baby. Ashlynn walked over to us to see what was up and I told her Dawson was my little baby. Then she asked to hold him! So I told her to sit on the couch and I gave him to her. She was so sweet. She tried to rock him and rubbed his head all motherly-like. She didn't want to give him up either! She held him for a good 5 minutes and when I tried to get him off of her she told me "No! Mine! My baby!" *lol* (Which reminds me, she sure is talking a LOT!!. She's getting really good at putting together 3-4 word sentences, too! I love listening to what she has to say.)

I've got plans to go over to my friends house next week with the kids and she's got a baby girl who is two months old. Ashlynn is going to ADORE her, I already know it!

The other night Hailee and Drea slept over here. The kids were so good all night and had so much fun playing together. Here they are settling down and watching a Hotel Transylvania.

Goofy goobers.

Loves!

P.S. I started typing up this blog a couple of days ago. I am happy to report that I finally worked out today! I'm shooting for 3 workouts a week for now... I can do it!

P.P.S. I read Ashlynn Dr. Seuss's ABC book tonight, which is pretty long for her and she sat through the entire thing and listened so well! Hooray! Let's hope her not wanting to listen to stories phase is over! :)

P.P.P.S. I read Dawson Tag Team from his Cars Storybook Collection (surprise! riiiiiight...) in case you were wondering. ;)

That's all folks! Until next time...
