10 days ago me and Dawson started his reading lessons. He looks forward to doing them everyday (one lesson a day, about 20 minutes per lesson) and is SO excited to learn how to read. During yesterday's lesson one of the tasks was for Dawson to sound out three letters (mmmm-aaaaa-t) and then I was supposed to sound out the word for him (mmmmaaaaaaaat) and then he was supposed to say it fast (mat). (Hopefully that makes sense, it makes sense to me but that's because I do the lessons with him *lol*) Well to my surprise he sounded out the word and put it together all on his own, he didn't need my help sounding it out at all! And then after that he sounded out and read the word "sat" and "am" too! He was so excited and proud of himself that he went and got Dave to show him and then he started flipping through the pages to find more words to read. He ended up reading "me" "see" "ram" "rat" and "eat" all on his own!! He is catching on so well!!! It's so exciting to see him so excited about learning. I'm one proud mama!!
