Imagination Movers Concert!!

Me and the kids have been in Denver the past few days because the Imagination Movers had a concert there. Dave had to work so he wasn't able to go with us but Dawson loves the Movers so I wanted to take him even if that meant I had to drive to Denver! And it was SO worth it. Dawson has been excited about this concert for almost a year now. We found out at the end of last year that they were going to Denver and decided that we wanted to take him. Originally their concert was going to be in March, so we told Dawson we were going and he got all excited. Then they pushed the concert back to October. Dawson was still excited and would ask all the time how many more days until the concert. So fast forward to a few weeks ago, in September, I found out that their concert was cancelled. I was devastated. Seriously. I cried, of course, because the thought of telling Dawson made me SO sad! I emailed the Movers and asked why they cancelled and I got a reply the next day from Scott, one of the Movers, telling me that the venue they were going to perform at pulled the plug but they were still coming to Denver. They found a venue themselves and were going to promote it themselves. This was like 3 weeks before the show. I was so happy to hear they were still coming!! And I was really amazed that they would take matters into their own hands and make sure that they still put on a show in Denver. They are the best! Dawson kept asking how many days until the concert so I decided to make him a Movers countdown chain.
He was really good at taking one off each morning and telling me how many days we had left. :)
We also made him his own Movers shirt.
After we made his shirt (we printed the image on a transfer sheet and ironed it on) and gave it to him he was watching the Movers on TV and he said his shirt was different from the Movers because it didn't have anything on the back... so we added the Movers logo like they have on the back of their coveralls. He loved it! He's officially a little Mover.

We had really good seats at the concert and Dawson got to high five all of them at least once during the show. They were great about coming out into the audience and interacting/singing with the kids. I'm pretty sure every kid there got one high five from at least one of them. Dawson enjoyed the concert and danced around a little bit but he was a lot more reserved than I thought he would be. He totally reminded me of ME. :P

Here we are waiting for the concert to start.
I meant to buy him a red long sleeved shirt to go under that shirt but I forgot!!! I didn't think about it again until we were on our way to the concert and by then it was too late to find. Next time for sure (oh yes, there will be a next time!)

Here's a picture from the concert. It's not a very good one, but it works.
After the concert was over we headed over to the Think Tank. Which was a special party room where we got to MEET the Movers!! We had "backstage passes!"

Here is a picture of Dawson meeting Dave. (you can kind of see the logo we added to the back of his shirt in this pic!)
He spent a minute or two with each one of them and then the Movers sang a song together. After that it was time for pictures.

When it was our turn to go up there to talk to them and get our picture taken Scott asked if he was Dawson from Salt Lake City. Dave had emailed him and told him we were coming and asked if he could do something special for Daws because his birthday was coming up. And he remembered (he also remembered my first and last name)!! I told you they were awesome!! They sang him happy birthday and asked how our drive was and things like that. Dawson wasn't shy at all (do I even need to say that? He is never shy!) and loved talking to them! He colored them a picture while we were waiting for them to come into the Think Tank room and gave it to them. They thought it was really cute!
A funny little note about this picture, Dawson asked me to take it and then he asked to see the picture, after he looked at it he said he thought he looked sad in it and wanted me to take another one. The picture I posted was take two, he made sure to show his big smile!

After everybody had gotten a picture with them (we were last because Dawson had to go potty when it was time to meet them) they mingled with everyone and signed autographs. Dawson had so much fun going up and talking to them over and over again. Scott is definitely my favorite because he was SO good with Dawson. He remembered his name every time Dawson came up to talk to him (and not just because it was on his shirt, he had his jacket on the last couple times he talked to him) and was just so fun and interacted with him a lot. Dave and Smitty were cool, too, and Rich was just ok. *lol* He seemed to be more interested in talking to the adults instead of the kids. Every time Dawson would try to talk to him he would sort of acknowledge him and then start talking to another adult. That's ok, though, Scott's awesomeness definitely made up for it. It's kind of funny, Rich used to be my favorite but now that we've actually met them Scott is definitely my favorite!

Here are some souvenirs that he got. Before the concert I let him pick out whatever he wanted and he picked a shirt. Good choice, I think!
It's got all the tour dates on the back.
With our VIP tickets we got a Movers poster and a Movers VIP laminate to wear around our necks to show that we could go into the Think Tank room to meet them. He got both of those signed. I wish I would have thought to take pictures of each of the Movers signing his stuff but I didn't. I'm happy he got all of their autographs, though! His poster is already hanging on his wall.
And I'm not sure what we're going to go with his VIP laminate but we'll definitely keep it forever.
I'm already excited to go to their next concert and we will definitely get VIP tickets again. Hopefully they'll come to Salt Lake next time, but if we have to travel to Denver again we will. And Ashlynn is definitely coming next time, she totally would have had fun if she would have came with us. And of course Dada, too! :)

I'll have the rest of our Denver pics up tomorrow.

How fun! They sound like awesome guys! Especially Scott, of course! How cool that they made sure they came to Denver, no matter what. I can never seem to find the show playing on the Disney Channel, but Ashlyn loved it the couple of times it has been on. :)

How awesome! I bet Dawson LOVED it! Sounds like the Movers really do love what they do. We watched it a little when we had cable and Emma liked it. Looks like it was something Dawson will remember!
