Ashlynn's First Taste of Food!

So I know that I just posted that I wanted to wait until Ashlynn was 7 months old to start her on solids, but we decided that 6 months and 1 week old was old enough. :P We decided to start with some squash and she LOVED it! She was all smiles and didn't even make any funny faces. She also swallowed almost every bite! I was expecting her to push it out with her tongue at first but she didn't. So yeah, she was totally ready for some food!

And another short video... Dawson randomly tells Dave "I love you" which he says to all of us often, but because I actually got it on video I decided to post it. He's a sweetheart. I'm getting Ashlynn on video and Dawson is talking in the background so you'll have to listen carefully.





Ashlynn's first taste of pureed solids on July 16th. Yummy squash!





She'll be eating squash for a couple of days and then we'll introduce some oatmeal. Right now she's only eating solids once a day, when we introduce the oatmeal she'll eat that in the morning for breakfast and squash for dinner. By next week she should be up to 3 solid meals a day. We have to slowly introduce foods one at a time so we can watch for any allergic reactions. She'll be trying a new food every 3 or 4 days until she's tried them all. I'm sure I'll have a lot more pictures of her trying different things. It's really exciting to see her doing new things! :)
