Ashlynn's 6 month checkup

I meant to add this to yesterday's post but I totally forgot. (If you missed yesterday's post go check it out, Ashlynn got her first taste of solid food!) Anyway, Ashlynn had her 6 month appointment last Friday and it went great! I was a little worried because she hasn't started rolling over yet but her pediatrician said it was nothing to be worried about. She is growing great and meeting almost all of the milestones expected for a 6 month old which is really good considering she was a preemie (her adjusted age at 6 months is 4 1/2 months old).

She weighs 18lbs 3oz now!! Dawson was 20lbs 8oz at 6 months old so she is right behind him! She started out over 3lbs lighter than he was at birth so she has closed that gap a little bit and is catching up to him. She is 25 1/2 inches long now. I forgot to ask what percentiles she was in, I wish I would have remembered.

She had to get a few shots and she did SO well!! Anytime she has gotten shots before she has been absolutely miserable almost immediately after her shots and it usually lasts about a day or so. We made sure to make her appointment on a Friday this time so Dave would be able to help out some the next day. We also scheduled her appointment for later in the day so Dave would be able to go to it, but there ended up being an accident on the bridge that afternoon and it took him over 2 hours to get to the hospital. He missed her appointment but he got there right before she got her shots. It was pretty good timing because I don't like watching the kids get shots so I was able to step back and he stood next to Ashlynn. She only cried for a couple of seconds and then was back to her happy little self. I think having daddy there helped a lot. :) Her shots didn't seem to bother her at all this time so that made us really happy.

I think it's kind of neat to look back and see how much Ashlynn has grown in the last 6 months...

3/8 (8 weeks) ---- 8 lbs 10 oz --- 20.5 inches
3/15 (9 weeks) --- 9 lbs 10 oz --- 21 inches
5/5 (4 months) --- 14 lbs 1 oz --- 23 inches
6/7 (5 months) --- 16 lbs 6 oz --- 24.5 inches
7/15 (6 months) -- 18 lbs 3 oz --- 25.5 inches
