Dawson's First Haircut

First things first. I have been slacking a little bit when it comes to keeping our blog updated (Dave has been, too! He was in Bahrain a couple of weeks ago and he still hasn't sent me his blog. He didn't do much, though, that's probably why he isn't in a hurry to send it.) Anyway! Dawson had his 12 month checkup earlier this week and that went great. He had to get 4 shots which was no fun for either of us, but luckily it was over quickly. He hasn't grown a whole lot since his 9 month checkup... I was a little worried about that, but the nurse told me it was fine since he is so active and already a healthy weight. I wanted to ask his pediatrician about it just to give me a little more peace of mind but I forgot to and he didn't bring it up so I guess it's not an issue.

Once again here is his weight and length since he was born up until his 12 month appointment...

I think we are going to be changing pediatricians soon because I'd like to see one who is a little more thorough when he's examining Dawson. And the pediatrician that we are seeing now is the only one in his office. So if he is out of town or something and Dawson needs to be seen I have to take him to Instacare. I'd rather just go to a doctors office that has a few doctors so if his regular pediatrician is not available he can still be seen by somebody there.

In other news... Dawson got his first haircut today! I have been talking about doing it for weeks now, but honestly I was a little scared to have it done. I still want him to look like my baby and not a big boy. I've seen a lot of pictures of babies that look so much older after they get their hair cut. BUT Dawson still looks like my baby! Yay!

I took him to a place called Cookie Cutters. (My mom came with for support. *lol*) Cookie Cutters is a salon just for kids, in case you couldn't tell by the name. :-) I was very, very impressed by how friendly they were and by all the cool stuff that they had to keep kids happy while they were getting their hair cut.

And they asked me what movie he would like to watch. They had 20-30 to choose from and we of course chose Elmo!

He was such a good boy that he got a balloon and a sucker!!! :-)
