He's Starting to Walk

Just a quick update on Dawson. :-) He's been trying to walk by himself for about 3 or 4 days now. Before today he would just take one step and then fall down, with the exception of yesterday...he took 3 steps and then grabbed onto something! Today he has taken 2-3 steps a few times. Earlier when Brandee, Andy and the girls were over, Dawson was holding onto his house and then he started walking towards me and Brandee. He took 3 steps and almost fell but he was able to catch himself! He stood there for a few seconds and then sat down. He is SO good at standing on his own now. He can pretty much stand as long as he wants to without holding on to anything for support. He can even dance and clap while standing up by himself.

He has also added a couple more words to his vocabulary. Nana is banana (which he can't seem to get enough of! I have to hide them now because if sees them on the counter he has to have one even if he just ate one) And he can also say "right there" not as clear as that, but I don't know how to type it like he says it. *lol* I think there is one other new word but I can't think of it right now. He has also been calling a lot of things dada lately. His binky is dada, his dog is dada... And he still points to the pictures on the wall and says dada, so that's good. :-)

I also keep forgetting to write that he's been off his bottle and formula since about a week after his birthday! I was going to switch over to milk and a sippy the day after his birthday, but he was still sick so I decided to wait a little longer. He had no problem with the switch at all, so that made it super easy! I was amazed at how much more cupboard space I had once I threw away all of his bottles! Of course that space has now been filled with sippy cups so that didn't last long.

Hopefully I can get video of Dawson walking soon. He doesn't like to walk when I want him to, though. He has to do it on his own and I never know when it's going to happen so I haven't been able to catch it on camera yet. I'm sure it won't be long though.

This post is turning out longer than I thought it would!

I also have been meaning to post about the sleepover that we had last weekend with Hailee. We had a lot of fun! First of all she helped me make turkey cupcakes, she did such a good job!

Here she is frosting some cupcakes:

Putting on the turkey's "feathers"

Here is what they looked like when they were finished:

And then they were eaten! Yum!

You can read about how we made them here: Cupcake Turkey Treats

She was such a good little helper! She kept picking up Dawson's toys when he was finished playing with them. It has been a long time since I have seen the living room so clean for so long! Yes, I pick up after Dawson, but not right when he moves onto a new toy. I pick up every few hours and then before bed, for sure!

And Dawson had such a good time playing with her! He was having so much fun and just kept laughing and laughing. It was so cute.

Hailee and I also made a couple Christmas decorations, but I can't say or show what they are because me and Dawson made some too and sent them to Dave and he hasn't gotten them yet. (He knows they are coming, but he doesn't know what we made.) My sister told me that Hailee took one the things that we made to show and tell this week. :-D That made me happy to hear! I'm glad she likes it so much.

I think that is about it for now! Hopefully I will have some video and pictures of Dawson walking to share soon!
