Just a quick update! A few posts ago I shared a video of Dawson turning on the light to his toy house. He is now officially in charge of turning on and off the lights in the house as needed. In the morning when I get him out of his crib we walk into the hall and he turns the light on for me and once we are in the living he turns the hall light off. And then every night before bed I have him turn on his bedroom light, then I turn on his lamp and walk back over to the light switch and he turns it off. He's such a good little helper already!
A week or so ago he started reaching for things that he wants. Every now and then he will point to what he wants, but mostly he reaches. Like when he is eating...I have to keep his sippy cup on the table instead of on the tray of his high chair (he throws it off the tray...he doesn't like it on there unless he is drinking from it for some reason) anyway, I used to just hand the cup to him every now and then when I thought he might want a drink, but now he lets me know when he wants it by reaching for it. That's also how he started turning on and off the lights for me, I was holding him and he started reaching for something...at first I didn't know what so I walked in the direction he was reaching and he grabbed the light switch once we were close enough and smiled. :-)
He is also getting so good at cruising! He walks along the couch pretty fast now and can even move from one couch to the other.

I'm glad to know Ashlyn's not the only one who hates to have her sippy cup on her tray when she isn't drinking it! lol
He is growing and learning new things all the time. I love it. :)
