So Dawson has had a loose tooth for a few months now. He's loved wiggling it and talking about when he thinks he's going to lose it. Every few days I'd wiggle it and see how close it was getting. Well today when I wiggled it I was like oh my gosh, I think today is the day! I pulled out my camera and took video of Dawson while we were talking and he was wiggling his tooth. I was hoping to get him losing it on video. After taking a 10 minute video and it not coming out I turned the video off and asked if he was ready for breakfast. We celebrated my birthday last night with some family and bought cake and ice cream but didn't have any last night because everyone was so full from dinner and s'mores. So we saved the kids each a piece of cake and Dave took the cake to work with him this morning. Anyway, since they didn't get any cake last night (they were bummed even though they had plenty of sugar already!) I told them they could have cake for breakfast. So I got them sat down and they started eating and all of a sudden I heard Dawson say "is that my tooth?!" I got closer to him and sure enough his tooth was gone! Thankfully he didn't swallow it. He felt something hard as he was chewing his cake and spit it out on his plate. Whew!
He was excited but also a little emotional. He got all teary-eyed and said he wasn't sure if he was ready to grow up. It was really sweet.
He wasn't emotional for long, though, he got super hyper and excited! He can't wait to see what the tooth fairy leaves him!
He said we have to put this in the yearbook! Definitely!

Our grandson Gavin just lost his first tooth too. It's quite a milestone for the kids. Waiting to see what the Tooth Fairy left is fun!
