Dawson's First Day of School!

After a lot of thought we decided to enroll Dawson in school instead of continuing to homeschool. I think it's going to be best for all of us. Here are some pictures from Dawson's first day! He was so excited and kept telling me that he had butterflies in his belly. :)

I seriously didn't know what to do with myself while he was gone! I did a lot of pacing around the house and tried to clean a little but couldn't stay focused! Ashlynn and I decided to go over to our friend's house that they had just bought and check it out. It's really cute! On the way there Ashlynn buckled her baby into the car and even put headphones on her baby so she could hear the movie that Ashlynn had playing. lol She's a funny girl, I sure love her!

After we left our friends house it was finally time to go pick up Dawson! He had the biggest smile when he came running out of the school. He had the best first day! He loves school and I love hearing about his day each day! He mostly likes me to pack his lunch unless they're having pizza at school, he loves pizza! He's already brought home a couple of things that he made at school... that's probably my favorite part! Getting all the cute stuff that he makes!

His teacher has some concerns that Dawson may have a behavioral disorder. This doesn't really surprise me but makes me sad that we haven't gotten him help sooner. It seems like it's a lot worse at school (probably because he's stuck at a desk for most of the day), but I'm very happy with his teacher's patience and willingness to help Dawson. He's such a smart kid! He just needs a little help with controlling himself sometimes. We're definitely going to work on getting the help that he needs. :)

You'll find that Dawson will adjust just fine! Personally I think it's much better to have the kids in school with others. He'll learn to deal with the kids, making many friends along the way and to behave and follow the teacher's directions.
