Tumbling and a Prank

I don't really have much to write about but I didn't want to go too long without posting... I'm trying to make it a habit again.

Ashlynn started tumbling a few weeks ago and has been learning so fast! They're already looking to move her out of the beginner class to the next class up soon. She's getting better at her handstands and can hold them for a few seconds, at least, now. She has mastered a backward roll (a backwards somersault), she can hold a backbend bridge for over a minute (she's so strong!) and she's working on her backbend kickover. She can do it on her own if she's on a bit of a slanted surface... she's so close to getting it when she's on a flat surface. Oh, her cartwheels are really good too! Besides the backbend kickover she is working on going down into a backbend from standing and coming back up. That's a lot of work but she'll get it soon! She's so determined and doesn't mind putting in the work to get stronger. We're so proud of her!

Dawson played a little prank on Dave earlier this week, he's such a funny kid. The day before his prank he planted a little seed by telling Dave he heard that they're going to pick a winner to announce the next Avengers title to. Then the next day he typed up a letter to Dave from "Marvel Studios" telling him he had won and what the title for the next Avengers movie was going to be (we can't remember what he made up now, darn it!!!) Then he had me address an envelope to Dave, put a stamp on it, and we put it in the mailbox like it had been delivered that day. hahah When Dave got the mail he was like "this is weird, there is something addressed to me but no return address..." Once he opened the letter and read it he knew that Dawson was behind it. It was still super funny. Me, Dawson and Ashlynn tried to deny any involvement in it for a bit but we couldn't hold our smiles and laughter back for too long.

Last night when Dave went out back to check on the pork that he had in the smoker he noticed the moon was bright orange. He called us all out to see and we ended up taking the telescope out front and hanging out with the neighbors for a bit, taking turns looking at the moon. It was really cool looking, it looked like a Halloween moon! Here's a couple of pictures of the kids with the orange moon behind them and then a couple of pictures that Dave took through the telescope lens. Cool!
