When the Sorting Hat was singing about the different houses... I'll just copy and post the lyrics that Dawson went back to reread and decide where he thought he'd fit in:
You might belong in Gryffindor,
Where dwell the brave at heart,
Their daring, nerve, and chivalry
Set Gryffindors apart;
Where dwell the brave at heart,
Their daring, nerve, and chivalry
Set Gryffindors apart;
You might belong in Hufflepuff,Where they are just and loyal,
Those patient Hufflepuffs are true
And unafraid of toil;
Those patient Hufflepuffs are true
And unafraid of toil;
Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw,if you've a ready mind,
Where those of wit and learning,
Will always find their kind;
Where those of wit and learning,
Will always find their kind;
Or perhaps in SlytherinYou'll make your real friends,
Those cunning folks use any means
To achieve their ends.
After reading through them carefully he decided he'd probably be a Ravenclaw. I told him there was an online test where he could actually be sorted into a house after taking a quiz and he was excited to try it. After he answered all the questions, he turned out to be correct, he did in fact belong to Ravenclaw. I myself am Hufflepuff (I want to be in Ravenclaw with my boys!!! Dave is also a Ravenclaw). We'll have to wait a few years when Ashlynn gets into Harry Potter to see what House she will get! I'm almost guessing Gryffindor but we shall see!Those cunning folks use any means
To achieve their ends.
Dawson is definitely smart and witty! I have a funny story to share from the other day. We were at the Splash Pad letting the kids get wet and when it was time to leave Dawson was like, "is it time to throw in the towel? Or time to wrap it up?" As he was putting his towel around him. hahahaha That kid cracks me up! I love the funny stuff that he comes up with!
Anyway, Dawson and I are excited to start the second book! We watched the first movie yesterday and both agreed the book is so much better!!! The movie (understandably) leaves SO much out!!
Ashlynn and I have been reading together each day, too. She doesn't like reading and really has to be pushed to do so. And she's wanted nothing to do with chapter books because most of them lack pictures and color! So we started reading The Critter Club books. We've been reading two chapters a day because we get through them pretty fast. We started out with me reading two pages and then she would read one page but as of yesterday she wanted to read the whole chapter herself to me!! Such progress!!! She also told me that she actually likes reading now. That made me so happy to hear! We've read almost three of The Critter Club books so far and we own five more and I'm excited to keep reading with her (or even better, letting her read to me!!).

| Here is Ashlynn reading to me. The Critter Club books that we have have four books in one, that's why the book looks so big! |
That's all for now! Me and Daws want to update the blog more often, hopefully you'll be hearing from us again soon! :)
