Ashlynn's Christmas Recital

I need to get back into posting regularly here. I always want to but I'm so far behind that it seems like I'll never catch up! So I just need to go through our photos and quickly do a post for all of them (and back date them so they'll will be in our 2013 blog book that I need to order soon!). For awhile I didn't want to post anything because we decided to find our puppy Ella a new home and I was super sad over it. I was the one who ultimately made the decision and I was definitely the most sad over it! I cried for two days because I felt guilty and I just plain missed her. Thankfully the kids were not upset about it at all. And now that it's been awhile (we found her a new home in November) I definitely know it was the best decision for our family and for Ella.

So first up is Ashlynn's dance recital. We had to switch where we take her dance because I watch my friend's son during the day and it was too crazy at that place to take her to night classes. So her recital was much smaller than her last one, it was just in studio and all the parents came to see. Dave wants to get her back into the other dance place because he feels like they're more organized and whatnot... we'll have to talk about it more before we decide. She likes where she's going now and her friend Emma is in her class! (Remember Emma? She was also on Dawson's soccer team and Ashlynn just loves her!) Anyway, Dave wasn't able to make it to her recital because about a week before he slipped on some ice and broke his leg. :( We were out delivering treats to family and friends when it happened. Thankfully Dave knows how to keep his cool in a difficult situation, even with a broken leg! Because I was freaking out! Anyway, I'll post more about that in a separate post so I can include pictures.

Back to Ashlynn's dance recital. Me, Dawson, Nana, Papa, and Arika all went to see her. She did so good and looked so sweet and happy!!! She is the youngest one in her class, in fact, she started in there when she was two and they said they normally don't take kids until they're three but they let me bring her in and see how she would do and she did great! Her teacher always tells me how much fun she has and how well she is doing.

Now for some pictures!

At the beginning the introduced each of the girls and the girls walked out to the dot on the floor and did whatever pose they wanted to. This was Ashlynn's pose. :)

Here she is getting ready to do their dance routine. I have video of it but since it won't show up in the blog book anyway I'm not going to worry about posting it.

After they danced they got to meet Santa! And have some yummy snacks.

It was really fun to see her. She has another recital in June that will be bigger than this one. Instead of being in the studio she'll be back up on stage! I hope she does as well with that as she did the first time she was on stage. We're excited to watch her!
