My Sweet Cuddle Bug

I have been meaning to do an update about Dawson for awhile now but have keep putting it off...not any longer though! Yesterday the 3 of us were sitting on the couch together and Dave had Dawson on his lap. Dawson started saying something and at first we couldn't tell what he was saying but he kept saying it over and over. Finally I figured it out! He was saying "love you mama dada" It was SO sweet!!! I asked if that was what he was saying and he said "uh-huh" He has said "love you" a couple of times before but not very often and only when I am trying to get him to say it. This time he totally said it on his own and then he gave me and Dave kisses. I totally cried. What a sweet moment. I'm so glad that Dave is back even if it's only for a few days. I can see a difference in Dawson when we are all together and he is just happier. He's always happy, but it's a different kind of happy when he has his mama and dada home.

Dawson LOVES to give kisses. It's really cute too because he will say "kiss mama" and then he'll give me a kiss, then he'll say "kiss nose" and then he'll kiss my nose. He does this to my eyes, my cheeks and my ears and it usually happens a few times a day. :) Speaking about different body parts he knows most of his. He is starting to talk really clear now, too. He will say and point to his hair, head, ears, eyes, nose, cheeks, chin, neck, belly, bellybutton, arms, hands, fingers, legs, feet and toes! He also knows where his elbows are but he doesn't say that yet.

Some of Dawson's favorite things to do are color, do puzzles and read. I read to him at least 2 times a day (before nap and before he goes to sleep for the night) and he usually hands me a book to read to him a few times throughout the day. He'll look at books by himself, too. When Dave is home we usually split up the before bed routine. Dave reads Dawson a story and then I go up and cuddle with him, sometimes he lets Dave cuddle with him but he usually calls for me. He needs his mama cuddle time before he goes to sleep, it's really sweet.

Awhile ago I posted a video of Dawson doing his fish puzzle and naming all the colors. He officially knows all of his colors now. He still enjoys putting his fish puzzle together but we decided to buy him a new one since he had mastered that one. So we bought him an alphabet puzzle. After a day or two we decided we should probably put it away for awhile because it seemed too hard. (It said it was for ages 3 and up) I thought it was going to have a picture of the letter under the puzzle piece so he could just match them up, like the fish puzzle. But instead of having the letter, under the A is an apple, under the B is a basket, etc. So we picked up the puzzle and set it on the stairs so next time we went up we could put it in Dawson's closet. Dawson saw it on the stairs and threw a fit until I gave it back to him... this was about 2 1/2 weeks ago. And guess what? He can do the whole puzzle by himself now!!! He can even name a few letters. He doesn't get them right 100% of the time yet, but he almost always names the betters B, O, T and Y. I need to get video of him doing the puzzle, he is really good at it.

Oh, another thing that he has been doing for awhile is saying "bless you" after somebody sneezes. Actually it sounds more like "ness you" The other day I was watching TV and Dawson was sitting next to me on the couch looking through a book. He sneezed and I heard him but it didn't really click in my head...I must have been really into my show. Anyway, Dawson leaned forward and looked at me and said "ness you" like he was saying hello mom?? I sneezed aren't you going to say bless you??? I laughed so hard and of course I said "I'm sorry, bless you!"

He also says "I sorry" when he gets hurts because when he does get hurt I always say "baby, I'm sorry" and give him kisses. I think it's cute how he thinks I sorry means that he got hurt.

Sorry for such the long update without any pics! I just wanted to hurry up and get this typed up so in a few years I can look back and remember some things that I may forget.

I know most of you saw this video on Facebook but not all of you are on my friends list so I will add it here, too. This is Dawson dancing with Ellen and Twitch on the So You Think You Can Dance season finale. Good thing it's on my DVR because Dawson wanted to watch it over and over and he kept saying "dance with Ellen!" Yep, he still loves Ellen and he still LOVES to dance!
