Beach Bum

We took Dawson to the beach for the first time this year. (We were happy to realize it was only a 10 minute drive! We love being so close to the ocean!) It was a little windy and the water was cold but we all still had a lot of fun.

First of all I had to get a picture of Dave and Dawson walking towards that water. Just about everywhere we go I have to get a picture like this, Dave said it has become their signature pose. And a couple of weeks ago my friend posted a picture of her husband and daughter walking on the beach like this and I knew I wanted to get a picture of Dave and Dawson doing the same. :)

Like I said before the water was cold but Dawson didn't mind at all. After a minute or two you get used to it anyway.

After a few minutes in the water we decided we should sit down and let him play in the sand with his new beach toys. He didn't want to leave the water...

Once we finally got him sitting down and showed him how to use the shovel he didn't seem interested at all. Actually, he didn't like the sand in his hands.

So he took off! (Don't worry Dave is right beside him just out of picture)

It was hilarious to seem him RUN as FAST as he could toward the water. He wanted to be in the water so bad...

And then he was happy again. :)

I didn't realize how big this wave was...

And Dawson still has a big smile on his face. :)

We only stayed for about 30 minutes because the water was pretty cold and even though Dawson didn't seem to care we didn't want him to get sick.

Here is a little bit of video...
