Our First {REAL} Snow Day!

This morning we woke up to the news that school had been canceled due to the weather. We got a lot of snow! Dawson and I were going to stay home from school anyway because he is sick but Ashlynn got an extra day off! I'm a little bummed that we couldn't go out and enjoy the snow but I still loved the feeling of being home with my family during a storm when we normally would've been at school!

The last time that I remember having a snow day was when I was in middle school, so that was 20 years ago!!! They had the make up day on a Saturday that year for some reason and my mom made me go. I'm pretty sure that my kid's make up day will be on Presidents Day. Much better than a Saturday! And we didn't have any plans for that anyway so it's not a big deal that we'll have to spend it in school.

Dawson is feeling better today than he was yesterday but my little stinker is still sick. 😔 Yesterday he had a fever and while his temp went up he felt really sick so we were giving him motrin and tylenol so he wouldn't feel so bad. Today his fever is gone but he doesn't have a lot of energy. He's slowly getting it back so I'm hopeful that by tomorrow morning he'll be good as new! I hate to see my little buddy sick but I love taking care of him and I love all the extra cuddles!!

Here's a few pictures from the snow storm we just had. There was also a lot of wind during the storm which made some cool snow drifts on our porch!

I love all this snow! It's so magical, especially when we actually get a real life SNOW DAY! Yay!
